Investment Trends conducts an annual survey of Australia's CFD market, and this year's results revealed that over one-third of active CFD traders now choose IG Markets as their main CFD provider, with our closest competitor some 14% behind. The report showed that traders highly value the ease-of-use and features of our trading platform, our tight trading spreads, plus the range of markets available.

Interesting report findings
Investment Trends discovered some interesting shifts within the industry. In the previous year, the volume of trading on underlying markets moved away from shares to forex trading, with a huge 27% of CFD trades now accounted for by forex.
Switchers choose IG Markets
The report also highlighted that the growth in the number of active CFD traders has slowed. The significant change has been that many market participants have switched between providers, with over a third of switchers moving to IG Markets. Now, 40% of active CFD traders have an account with us. The important factors for traders who switched to IG Markets were our pro-level charting package and platform features. Demonstration accounts played an important role too, with almost half of those who opened one, using it to compare platforms.
