The TradeSense education programme is designed to guide you through your first steps in CFD trading. It runs over six weeks, where you will be entitled to trade online in smaller than our usual minimum contract sizes, with reduced commissions. This allows you to build up your exposure gradually as you learn about CFDs, and become more proficient and self-assured in trading.

The TradeSense Modules
The TradeSense modules are designed to provide you both CFD education and support to build your confidence as a trader.
Module 1: CFDs: overview and trading online
In this module, we look at the basics of what CFDs are and how they work. We look at some examples, as well as how to place a trade online and other basic features of our trading platform. We also discuss why CFD trading has become so popular in the last few years and the advantages they offer over traditional methods.
Module 2: Financial markets
This module contains details of the different types of CFDs that we offer and an explanation of the underlying financial markets that influence their prices. The module also explains the difference between cash and forwards markets, and looks at pricing mechanisms, such as how the fair value of a future is calculated.
Module 3: Using orders to trade
This module introduces Stop and Limit orders, and looks at how they can be used to both open and close positions. Also covered is the difference between Guaranteed and Non-guaranteed Stops.
Module 4: Leverage and margin
This module explains the concepts behind leverage and compares CFDs with non-geared investments. There are a number of examples of how our deposit requirements are calculated and we explore how Stops can be used to reduce margin.
Module 5: Attitude to risk
In this module, we take a brief look at risk management and its importance.
Module 6: Trading discipline
The final module in our programme discusses the importance of discipline as a trading tool. It also shares some general trading tips.
